215 Mike Miller Places Fifth in State

    Orange Park Junior Mike Miller placed fifth at the state tournament, held at the Lakeland Civic Center.  The junior reached the state semi-finals, and lost a close 6-3 decision to Winter Springs senior Greg Gaught.  "He was one takedown away from a berth in the state finals," Head Coach Chad Parker said.  "His improvement from a year ago is just amazing when you look back.  A year ago, you couldn't say he would be this good."
    Parker credits Miller's dedication throughout the summer months as the key to his success.  "He took some time off, but for a majority of the summer he was practicing, and just as important, getting quality matches almost every weekend," Parker said.  "He did this himself.  We, as coaches can only present what should be done.  It's up to the individual athlete to do those things.  Winning a state title can be done here at Orange Park, guys now understand that."
